Info
FloussHub is a fintech mobile application designed for the Algerian market, with a mission to make financial inclusion simple and accessible. The app enables users to sign up, complete onboarding, transfer money, and pay bills seamlessly—reducing dependence on cash-based transactions.
problem
Algeria remains largely cash-driven, with limited adoption of digital financial solutions compared to global standards. This heavy reliance on manual cash transactions creates friction, inefficiency, and exclusion for many users. FloussHub aims to bridge this gap by introducing a digital-first financial experience tailored specifically to the Algerian context.
solution
A lightweight, intuitive mobile application that enables Algerians to perform everyday financial transactions with ease—while accounting for local behaviors, language preferences, and varying levels of digital literacy.
Design process
Research & Brainstorming
Extensive research was conducted into existing financial products and services operating within Algeria to understand current user behavior, limitations, and opportunities for differentiation. This helped position FloussHub as a modern yet culturally aligned solution.
A key focus area was language customization. Algeria is primarily Arabic-speaking, which required Arabic to be the default language. This introduced considerations around:
Right-to-left (RTL) layout structures
Typography choices suitable for Arabic readability
Seamless support for English and French as secondary languages
UX Patterns & Standards
Established fintech UX patterns were followed to ensure familiarity for users already exposed to digital platforms, while keeping the experience simple enough for first-time digital finance users.
To achieve this, I studied leading African fintech applications and analyzed their onboarding flows, transaction patterns, and information hierarchy to inform FloussHub’s experience.
Service Flow Definition
Clear definitions were created for all available services—airtime, data, electricity, and transfers—to ensure users could easily understand how each service works. These flows were carefully mapped to mirror real-world mental models, reducing confusion during execution.
Throughout the process, accessibility and usability remained core design principles, ensuring the product could be comfortably used across different user demographics.
Wireframing
With flows clearly defined, low-fidelity sketches and wireframes were produced efficiently. This phase allowed for rapid iteration on:
How transaction amounts are displayed
Placement and prominence of key actions
It was during this stage that “Send Money” and “Add Money” emerged as primary actions, while other services were positioned as secondary to reduce cognitive load.
High-Fidelity Design
In the high-fidelity phase, reusable components were created to support scalability and consistency across the product. This component-driven approach accelerated the design process and ensured visual coherence across a large and complex application.
product scope
FloussHub was designed as a four-part product ecosystem, with each component serving a distinct user group while remaining tightly connected within a single financial platform.
